MARIGOLD PLANTS SA has been participating in the GLOBAL G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practice) since June 2010. GLOBAL G.A.P. certifies that all propagation material, substrates, fertilizers, plant protection agents are used according to national and international standards to ensure the safety of the end consumer and the environment. Traceability is of key importance in this certification to ensure protection of the end consumer, the retailer and the production company. Audits are performed annually at which time the certification of the company is reevaluated. MARIGOLD PLANTS SA has been certified for three consecutive years with the best possible evaluation.
SOCIAL & ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS
MPS-ABC certification focuses on sustainable production of agricultural crops, with respect to the environment and the society. Under this certification scheme, the use of chemical agents and fertilizers, energy consumption and water use are recorded monthly. Evaluation of the company is performed according to a point system that encourages reduction of chemical inputs, energy consumption and the use of natural resources. MARIGOLD PLANTS SA has been participating in the MPS-ABC scheme since January 2009. Since then, the production practices have been improved in order to minimize our environmental fingerprint, leading to a steady ascent in the certification scale.
